St. Stanislaus the Bishop’s Church in Brzeźnica

The parish church under the vocation of St. Stanislaus the Bishop in Brzeźnica was built in 1632 and was partly remodelled in 19th century. This is an example of an ancient wooden sacred architecture. The important historic monuments in the temple are: a stone font and a wooden cross situated just under the ceiling of the main nave which probably has its origins in Wit Stwosz’s times. The paintings such as these on the ceiling are rarely found nowadays. The main nave is adorned by a picture presenting the Last Supper, the chancel is decorated by an image of the Holy Trinity while in the vestry one can admire a series of pictures showing the sin of the First Parents and their expulsion from Paradise. All the paintings come from 18th century. Next to the church there is an as old as the church quadrilateral campanile with three bells. Both the church and the campanile have been made of wood, what increases their historical value.
